As Critical Access Hospitals in western Maine, Bridgton and Rumford Hospital provide healthcare services to rural and underserved communities in those regions. Many patients in these communities have readily available access to behavioral health medical and consultative services in the inpatient and emergency department settings and integrated licensed clinical social workers in primary care practices that are supported by Bridgton and Rumford hospitals’ 340B savings. Community level trainings on overdose prevention, stigma, harm reduction and related topics are also offered as part of a full behavioral health offering for these rural communities.
