Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital

Funding from 340B allows Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital to offer a courtesy van service for patients who need transportation to appointments. The hospital serves an area encompassing a population of approximately 40,000 people in central Maine as a critical-access hospital. This free transportation service provides patients access to much needed medical care that they otherwise would not receive. The van service has been in operation since 2006 providing transportation for existing patients living in the Pittsfield and surrounding communities to appointments at any of the hospital’s locations, which include Clinton, Newport, and Pittsfield. In 2024, the courtesy van service made 1,037 runs totaling 33,470 miles.
